Why we exist

Built against the complaints, not the feature list

Every row below is a documented complaint against a named competitor, and what we do instead.

One-click data export, always

“Needing lawyers involved” — BBB complaints describe contractors fighting their own vendor to get their customer data back.

Full CSV export of every entity, in Settings, any time. No support ticket, no gate, no negotiation.

Month-to-month, published pricing

12–36 month contracts with $5k–50k setup fees, and termination fees documented at $24,000–39,375.

No contract. Cancel anytime from Stripe's self-serve portal. Price is on this page — not behind a sales call.

The price you start at is the price you stay at

“Year 1: $450/month. Year 2: $520/month. Year 3: $600/month. Plus we kept adding 'essential' features that cost extra.”

$59/tech, unlimited office staff free. Your rate is locked the day you sign up — we raise prices on new customers, never on you.

No per-feature upsells

Add-on cost creep is the #1 complaint against Housecall Pro — the bill doubles or triples past the advertised base.

Scheduling, e-signature, payments, QuickBooks export, and SMS are all included. Nothing is metered behind an add-on.

Office staff are free, forever

Per-user pricing breaks down for a 10–15 tech shop once every dispatcher and admin is a billable seat.

You pay per tech in the field. Unlimited office users — dispatchers, admins, owners — cost nothing extra.

Offline that's actually tested

A competitor advertises offline mode; reviewers report unreliability and data loss in the field.

Full create/edit of jobs, estimates, invoices, photos, and signatures with zero connectivity — the sync engine is our first-tested, most-tested code.

FAQ

Questions people ask before switching

Is there a contract?

No. Service Rivet is month-to-month. There is no multi-year agreement and no termination fee.

How do I cancel?

Self-serve, anytime, through the Stripe billing portal in Settings. No call required, no retention pitch.

Who owns my data?

You do. Every customer, job, estimate, invoice, and photo can be exported as CSV with one click, at any time, with no support ticket.

What happens with no signal?

The field app works fully offline: create and edit customers, jobs, estimates, invoices, photos, and signatures with zero connectivity. Changes sync when a connection returns. A few things that inherently need a live connection — Tap to Pay card processing, sending an SMS — are clearly disabled offline instead of spinning or silently failing.

How much does it cost?

$59 per tech per month, or prepay a year and get 2 months free ($49/tech/mo effective). Office staff are free and unlimited. No setup fee, no tiers, no add-on gates — the price above is the whole price.

What's the founding shop offer?

The first 20 shops lock in $39 per tech per month — for life. The rate never increases as long as your subscription stays active. It applies to everything Service Rivet includes today; if we ever add a genuinely usage-heavy extra (like a phone line or an AI receptionist), that's priced separately for everyone, founding shops included.

Is SMS really included?

Yes — appointment reminders, on-my-way texts, and customer replies are included, with a fair-use limit of 500 texts per tech per month. That's several times what a busy shop sends for job notifications. It's job messaging, not a marketing blast tool.
